A bit dramatic, I know. You won’t die of course, but we all know businesses that have died a long, slow, painful death… or even a short, sharp, whirlwind one.
The last words they spoke were “What ever happened to old fashioned customer loyalty?” It’s dead! Over. Gone. Done and Dusted. Hasta la vista baby!

You were good to me, but I can’t rely on you anymore.

So I ask you……

Remember in the ‘old days’ when you wanted to book a holiday? You (and – insert partner here if applicable) walked in to the local travel agent and sat down for a chat. They showed you lots of lovely brochures and you went home to pore through the pages, weigh up your options and decide which way to go (literally.) You’d call the agent a few times, maybe even pop back in until you both had your perfect holiday itinerary set. You’d pay a deposit with the balance due before you set off.
Ok, so if you’re too young to remember, your parents will have told you. Take my word for it, that’s what used to happen!
Today what do you do?
One word.
Google!!
Everything is just a Google search away. You can have your full holiday planned, booked and paid for in under and hour… with your pyjamas on, while reading the news headlines, eating breakfast, submitting that overdue report and researching your son’s school project!
Let’s face it, you need to be EXACTLY where your customer wants to find you. If you’re not, you’ll be flicked as quick as a bad match on tinder.
Staying front of mind is what it’s all about today. You don’t have to be everywhere, but you do need to be where your customer is. You need to change with your market, diversify, think outside the square, and stand out.
